I am a sculptor, teacher and cultural animator. I have BA (2000) and MA (2003) degrees in Sculpture and Glass and also MSc in Economics; specialisation: economic cybernetics and computer science (1986). Currently I am based in Edinburgh; before that I lived in Durham (1990-2006) and Warsaw (until 1990).
I work with a variety of materials but I am fascinated by transparent and semitransparent materials because seeing inside the sculpture creates a "fourth dimension".
My work is usually quite large scale and sculptural, often exploring various aspects of the human form. I am fascinated by the beauty of human body (even, or perhaps especially when, it is not beautiful in a conventional sense) and by people's embarrassment when confronted by nakedness. I am also interested in the connection between the past and the present
I have exhibited in the North East of England, and also in London, Lincolnshire, Surrey, Iceland, Poland and Iran. My most prestigious projects to date were in Durham Cathedral (Echo of the Past) where I was the first artist since 14th century allowed to exhibit at the High Altar, in Tehran (Reflection), and in British Embassy in Reykjavik.

Paintings - based on abstract, sometimes expand to surrealism motives.
Sculpture - abstracts often based or mixed with representative of human body.
I started my art story while study computer programming and learning German physiatrist E.Young (which impressed me mostly), around 1990 . As an reaction for those and hunger for knowledge of myself and the whole world around me I found that making drawings, working on shadows brings me balance and gives me opportunity to understand more about above. So…
Cant stop doing this.
To enjoy my creativity I always try to find new solutions, try new techniques and play
with … ? endless. After a year of study art – drawing in Cracov (Poland) around 1995, I started to explore my ability doing drawings, paintings, sculptures, playing with wood, glass, metal, concrete etc.
Main influences include:
The natural environment
Zen Art
The balance of energy and colours
Feng Shui
Radiesthesia
Commission works include:
Large-scale paintings & reproductions
Abstracts
Murals
Mosaics
Children's murals
Sculptures
Fountains
Drawing – negative of my subconscious. Its my painted dream which tell
me who I am and what is creating me. Its my fun, my space of
light and shadow, which get me out of 'here' for a minute.

''(...) In her works (both in the field of autonomous drawing as well as in her video pieces and installations) she is always trying to face new problems, to experience different aspects of visual expression for better recognition and deeper understanding of conterporary language of art, beyond any routine and conventional methods. It also concerns meanings she intends to express. They are refered to questions of borderline between art and daily life, identity of what we see and how do we interpretate it, political contexts. The way she deals with such serious issues seems to be very peculiar: there is always some kind of gentle humor involved in her works which protects them from any pathos nor journalism. (...)'' prof. Jarosław Kozłowski
Since May 2006 along with full time job and being a mum I develop several artistic ideas/projects. Apart from bunch of ready-to-use-ideas which are waiting for a right space and circumstances to rise, there are always plenty possible to appear exactly for "that moment".
I can work with any budget, place and time. All I need is a space and trust of art curator.

For ma ‘the way’ the act of painting is more important than ‘the goal’, the painting itself. I am still searching and at the same time hoping not to find...

Graduated with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland in September 2003, gaining a double MA diploma in Art Education and Visual Communication.
Graphic design for me is a continuous seeking and giving meaning; inscribing cultural codes into images. Image is a medium which preceded words which can be fully understood without knowing mind. Image reaches the unconscious, the instinctual, the bodily and gets into the space of spirit. Designing for me is sometimes an intellectual game and sometimes a blind journey, full of missed attempts and silent winning with myself.

Marek Borucki
Born in Gdansk in 1977, moved to Edinburgh July 2005.
I only really took to painting around 2003 which I suppose makes me an amateur but am determined to get my lucky break!
My passion is painting, it allows me to express my thoughts and feelings. I find a sense of calmness and inner peace when sat in front of my canvas with paints to hand.
I am influenced and inspired by many things such as black and white movies, music, human body, particularly facial features and interactions between people.

Although I studied photography I’m mailny self-taught and learn through my own experience.
In my work I try to apply Bresson’s ‘precise moment’ and keep to the strict rules of the zone system of Ansel Adams.
I participate as a freelance photographer on various events in Edinburgh taking pictures mainly for www.edinburgh.com.pl
